River des Peres Trash Bash, 10.16.24

Open Space STL's annual River des Peres Trash Bash on October 26, 2024. This event is an annual cleanup of the streams, greenways and parks in the River des Peres, Missouri. Along with the annual Confluence Trash Bash, this event acts as an extension of Operation Clean Stream.

We found this great opportunity to make a difference for the environment through a link on the Great Rivers website, and enjoyed it immensely. We were surprised by all the things we pulled out of a 100-yard stretch of Gravois Creek and the trees and banks along it — everything from plastic bags to bicycle tires, light bulbs, rebar, and a Rubik's cube.
