MMN State Conference in Columbia: Tucker Prairie

June, 2024
by Caitlin Custer, Class of Fall 2023

Sharing a few photos from our tour of Tucker Prairie, a few miles east of Columbia and just south of I-70. We looked at grasses, sedges, mountain mint, wild roses, black-eyed susans, rattlesnake master, and more. A sticking point for me was beginning to understand that not only are we trying to conserve as much biodiversity left as possible, but also trying to cram as much species management as possible onto a fraction of the space that was once available.
