Great Rivers Chapter members toured the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in early April.

The Center, founded in 1998 as an independent non-profit, has a broad mission to improve the human condition through plant science. Its primary “product” is the discovery of new understandings about plants and information that can be used to support global food security and improve the environment. Today it is the largest organization of its kind in the world, and St. Louis has one of the largest concentrations of plant science Ph.D.’s in the world.

During the tour, MMNs learned about research programs underway and some of the very high technology used at the Center.
